№3 Bad Aussee

№3 Bad Aussee
Zum "Hofmannsthal-Bankerl" - the path along an idyllic forest and meadow path with a view of the Dachstein offers a very special surprise for art lovers. A wooden bench on a meadow, simply made of four boards, like hundreds of others in the Salzkammergut. But carved into the weathered backrest is a name that gives the place something sublime. "Hugo von Hofmannsthal", co-founder of the Salzburg Festival, used to regularly recharge his batteries and get inspiration here for many summers on his favorite walks. After returning from this contemplative place, a visit to the Cafe Restaurant "Das gute Leben" on Meranplatz in Bad Aussee is recommended. We recommend brook trout or egg dumplings with green salad.
By the way: Legend has it that a walk for two to the Hofmannsthal bench is supposed to strengthen a relationship in the long term. A good time is in May when the lush green meadow carpet, covered with snow-white wild daffodils, expands the soul.
Another tip is undoubtedly the romantically located "Blaa-Alm", nestled in the mountains between Loser and Sandling in one of the most dreamy areas of Austria. There are delicious Ausseer delicacies in the cozy parlor or on the spacious sun terrace. If you unexpectedly need to stay longer, beautiful guest rooms await you.
